Sale and sharing
We don’t sell personal information for money. If you allow marketing cookies, Google and Meta collect identifiers and internet activity for cross-context behavioral advertising, which the CCPA treats as “sharing” (and may treat as a “sale”). We have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of consumers under 16. We use sensitive personal information only for purposes the CCPA permits, so the right to limit its use doesn’t apply.
Your California rights
- Right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use, disclose, sell or share, and get a portable copy.
- Right to delete and right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — use the button below, “Cookie preferences,” or a Global Privacy Control signal.
- Right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights.
Submit requests by email to support@bitspcrepair.com or by phone at (318) 562-3090. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with your signed permission. We don’t offer financial incentives for personal information.
Shine the Light and CalOPPA
We don’t disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83). Under the California Online Privacy Protection Act, we describe our response to Do Not Track signals in “Your choices,” and we post changes to this policy with a new effective date.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
B.I.T.S. PC & Wireless Repair (“BITS,” “we,” “us”) is a DBA (doing business as) name of B.I.T.S. PC Repair, LLC, an independent electronics repair shop at 1701 Old Minden Rd, Suite 22, Bossier City, LA 71111. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, by phone, text and email, and when you bring a device to our shop; how we use and share it; and the choices and rights you have.
It does not cover third-party sites we link to — such as our online booking and check-in pages, Google Maps or social media — which have their own privacy policies.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details — name, phone number, email address and how you prefer to be contacted, when you call, text, email, book, check in or fill out a form.
- Device and repair details — the device’s make, model, condition, serial number or IMEI, the problem you describe, passcodes you choose to share so we can test the repair, quotes, invoices and warranty history.
- Purchase, sale and trade-in details — the devices you buy, sell or trade and what you paid or were paid. When you sell or trade a device to us, Louisiana secondhand-dealer law may require us to record your government-issued ID and the device’s identifying details.
- Payment information — payments are taken in store. Card details are handled by our payment processor; we don’t store full card numbers.
- Messages — what you write to us in forms, texts, emails and reviews.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and referring page, recorded in our hosting provider’s server logs for security and reliability.
- Approximate location — the country and state derived from your IP address, used only to show you the privacy notice for your region. We don’t store it.
- Analytics and advertising data — only if you allow these cookies: how you use the site, collected by Google Analytics, and ad-measurement data collected by the Google tag and the Meta Pixel. See our Cookie Policy.
Precise location (optional)
If you press “Use my location” on the map, your browser asks for permission and shares your coordinates with Google Maps to draw directions to our shop. We don’t receive or store them.
Data on devices you bring in
We access the contents of your device only as needed to diagnose, repair, test, back up or transfer data as you ask. We don’t copy, keep or look through your files for any other reason. Please back up your data before a repair — see our Terms of Service.
3. How we use your information
- To diagnose and repair your device, give quotes, process sales and trade-ins, and honor warranties.
- To reply to you and send updates about your repair or appointment by call, text or email.
- To run, secure and improve the website, and prevent fraud, theft and abuse.
- With your permission, to measure how the site is used and how our ads perform.
- To keep business, tax and secondhand-dealer records and comply with law enforcement requests that the law requires us to answer.
5. Your choices
- Cookies, analytics and targeted advertising. Analytics and marketing cookies stay off until you opt in. Change your choice any time with the button below or “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of every page. Choosing “Reject non-essential” opts you out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising, and keep marketing cookies off for that browser.
- Do Not Track. Browsers’ older “Do Not Track” setting has no agreed standard, so we don’t respond to it; we do honor GPC as described above.
- Texts and email. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving them, or ask us to stop emailing you. We never send marketing texts without your prior express written consent.
6. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy; correct it; delete it; and opt out of its sale, sharing or use for targeted advertising. We honor these requests from every customer, wherever they live, subject to the exceptions the law allows (for example, records we must keep for tax, warranty or secondhand-dealer purposes).
To make a request, email support@bitspcrepair.com or call (318) 562-3090. We’ll confirm we received it within 10 business days and respond within 45 days (we may extend this once by another 45 days if needed, and will tell you why). To protect you, we’ll verify your identity by matching details you’ve given us, such as your phone number and a recent repair. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof that you authorized them. We will never discriminate against you — by denying service or charging a different price — for exercising your rights.
If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision or emailing support@bitspcrepair.com with “Privacy appeal” in the subject. We’ll answer an appeal within the time your state’s law requires (typically 45–60 days) and tell you how to contact your state Attorney General if you disagree.
Residents of some states have additional rights, set out in the regional notices:
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above:
- Repair tickets, invoices and warranty records: as long as the warranty lasts and up to 7 years for tax and business records.
- Secondhand-dealer purchase records (seller ID and device details): for the period Louisiana law requires.
- Form messages and correspondence that don’t become a repair: up to 2 years.
- Server logs: up to 90 days. Analytics data: up to 14 months, under our Google Analytics retention setting.
- Data on your device: we keep no copy after the repair, unless you asked us to transfer or back it up — then only until you collect it.
8. How we protect information
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards: encrypted (HTTPS) connections, limited staff access, and secure storage of devices in our shop. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as required by the Louisiana Database Security Breach Notification Law and the laws of your state.
9. Children’s privacy
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them online, consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Repairs for minors should be arranged by a parent or guardian. We don’t sell or share the personal information of anyone we know is under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We review this policy at least once a year. When we change it, we update the date at the top; if the change is material, we’ll highlight it on this page before it takes effect.
